“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” ~ Bilbo (J.R.R. Tolkien)
Evidently, the road has whisked Doran along the road, into a life of the arts. Hailing from Berville, Michigan, Doran quickly became infatuated with acting and went on to pursue an education in the performing arts. Accepted in Oakland University’s BFA Musical Theatre program, Doran sought to expand his understanding of the craft through every branch of performance he could. Working closely with not only the Musical department, but theater, dance and film, Doran was able to tackle any and all stories brought his way. During his Undergraduate, he was able to take the stage nine times, while being in short films, an opera, and performing at The American College Theater Festival twice. Through his work, he was awarded two Matilda Awards by the University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance for his commitment to the craft and collaboration. After graduating in 2020, Doran has since worked in film (working on two Netflix feature films being released in 2022), portrayed Don Pedro in an Equity production of “Much Ado About Nothing”, and opened “Ordinary Days” as Jason in Marquette, Michigan. Through all the trials and tribulations that 2020-2021 has brought us, Doran hopes to continue his passion for creation and collaboration.
